We believe that all young people are valuable members of our society regardless of their background.
Design and Technology is a dynamic and exciting subject which calls upon students to become inventive problem solvers who design and make things people want.
We aim to encourage a wider interest and enjoyment of the subject through encouraging confidence in imagination, creativity, analysis and independent thought.
Our aim is to stimulate interest in and enthusiasm for the study of the planet and its inhabitants. It is to help students understand the natural world that we live in and how humans interact with it.
Health and Social Care is a new and exciting vocational, single or double award GCSE. The course is based on real life and as a department we try to make the topics relevant to the world of work, in particular the care sector.
We aim for all pupils to achieve their personal best, through a range of excellent teaching and learning strategies. Regular off site visits include Conway Castle, London – Imperial War Museum, and places of historical interest.
To prepare pupils for life in a society supported by a highly evolved and diverse technological infrastructure.
The aim of the Mathematics Department is to ensure that student’s develop their mathematical skills so that they are equipped to cope with the mathematical demands of everyday life.
The MFL Department aims to provide a stimulating and positive learning environment in which pupils can achieve their true potential in all skill areas. We offer a variety of learning styles and hope that all students will be able to communicate successfully in French and Spanish.
The music department aims to maintain and stimulate pupil interest and enjoyment in music. Music develops a range of personal qualities such as independence and creativity. This subject also enables pupils to work independently and as part of a team in varied activities and to see music as a major cultural feature that provides intellectual and aesthetic stimulation.
We are fortunate enough to have excellent facilities. These include a climbing wall, 13 Concept 2 rowing machines, an all weather multi use games area, outdoor hard court playing surfaces, a 4 court sports hall, a well equipped fitness gym and our own purpose built PE class room with an interactive whiteboard.
In RE we offer pupils the chance to look at questions such as “What is right and wrong?”, “What happens when I die?” “Is there a God?” These are questions many people throughout history have asked and religion has been the main way they have been answered.
Our central goal is to create learners who are confident in their ability to learn and have a thorough understanding of themselves. They will take responsibility for their own learning and develop the skills to relate to people and manage situations.
“to strive for personalised learning in a stimulating and safe environment that meets the demands of today’s changing world."
We are a caring and sympathetic department, offering support and guidance through our staff. Students will be able to access extra learning activities through breaks and lunch hours and we will always strive to take time to listen to our pupils needs.
Our aim is to motivate our students to learn through a wide variety of activities and to give them the confidence to become independent learners.

Work Related Learning provides links between employers and pupils to develop skills, knowledge and understanding which will be useful in working life. Activities include one weeks work experience, mock interviews, careers advice and guidance, and Enterprise days hosted by local businesses.
