Creative Partnerships

During the next two terms, Year 9 students will be taking part in a project which aims to raise their aspirations and enable them to develop the skills they will need to achieve the best futures possible.

As part of the project, students will be working alongside their teachers to develop Higher Order Thinking Skills and ways of 'stretching' themselves to achieve the best that they can. Staff and pupils will be trained by Mathilda Joubert, a highly acclaimed consultant who has worked in many schools nationally and internationally.

The students were asked how they would like to present their learning and they have chosen to make a short film. They will work with 'as-creatives', a team of practitioners from the creative industries, to increase their understanding of the ways in which film-making industry works, develop drama, media, writing and performance skills and explore different possible careers.

We hope this project will provide a highly enjoyable and motivational experience for pupils and that it will have a very positive impact on their achievements in the future.
