Turkey and Tinsel afternoon

The 'Friends of Haydock Sports College' arranged a Turkey and Tinsel afternoon for the local elderly residents in Haydock. This took place on Friday 2nd December in the Drama Theatre and visitors were treated to an abundance of festive food. Tables laden with turkey sandwiches, cranberry sauce, stuffing, sausage rolls, mince pies, cakes and nibbles set the scene, and then it was the turn of students to entertain. Various 'lindy hop' dances were performed by some of our younger students who then led the singing of Christmas Carols.

Games of bingo and a raffle followed and a great time was had by all. It was a lovely atmosphere and the afternoon which started at 3.30pm was rounded off by a visit from Father Christmas who gave everyone a lovely chocolate gift.
